House Music Podcast

DJ: Juan Too Big Perez
Title: Brown Pride House
Genre: House Music
Released: 05/05/97
Copies Sold: A Shit Load

The Story:
This mix is the second part to the Brown Pride Mix CD series. The other mix was Brown Pride Freestyle Music Mix CD. I'm mostly known for making freestyle music mixes in Chicago but iv always loved house music. All kinds of it Old School House, New School House, Techno House, Ghetto House whatever has that fat house hard hitting beat. When I made this mix I really did not play what people were playing on there mixes that much. Yes I played some of the popular tracks I liked, but a lot of the tracks were just old tracks that which mixed in pretty good with the new tracks of that time. Remember this mix was made in 1995 and I still think it blends in good with what is being played today. I recently heard a mix by Mixin Marc and let me tell you the new house music being played is the shit! I'm thinking of releasing something similar to the Static Brothers Radio CD he did with Alex Peace. Obviously I would make my own style but I would definitely build upon the way they produced there mix, which was flawless. I have to really give them there props. Iv known these cats for a long time since back in the Toto's days with Bobby D in 1990 and they have traveled a long road of ups and downs with house music but have always left there mark on the world with there work. Talk about dedication, but hey that's what it takes to be a one of the great DJ's in Chicago. They say in the entertainment world that if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere. I have to say this for the DJ's If you can make it in Chicago you can DJ anywhere. Chicago has the best critics when it comes down to spinnin people here actually know the difference between a train wreck blend to a smooth flawless blend. They have been ear trained by the best DJ's in the world. Since the world famouse days of WBMX with the Hot Mix 5 to today's Chicago street DJ's and Chicago radio DJ's. Chicago DJ's are the best in the world.

Make sure to come back and post your comment on "Brown Pride House" let me know what you think.

Sacrafive Of Love

The story behind the song

My friends Angie, Chris "Romeo" and I were drunk off our ass one night just chillin. We were listening to some freestyle. Chris had passed out drunk, Angie and I were were still sippin and we got into the mood to write a song. We were just joken around I was mocking what she was saying. I would change the words up and started singing them. As drunk as we were, we started writing it. All excited we woke Chris up singing, he got up and we all started callaberating we came up with the chorus and the first verse that night. On the way home the next day Chris and I were singing it, thats when I wrote the second verse to it, well i made the words up as I was driving, Chris wrote the words down. This was back in January Of 1998. Chris had been living in my house for a few months already we were traveling all over performing together & I would also DJ. Eventually the song was produced and recorded with Chris singing and it was featured as an exclusive on DJ Aztek's Sacrafive Of Love 2.
